Quilt Ideas for Summer Urso

Take a look at these.  Just keep in mind, you are looking at them for the general pattern.  So try to imagine them with fabrics that will go with his room.  Anywhere you see an animal, etc., we can change it to the kind of truck he likes. 

I put 7 options on here, and some fabric ideas at bottom.  Just let me know what you think!  I have tons more ideas if none of these are what you are looking for. 

Also, are you interested in a toddler bed quilt or a twin size quilt?  That will help me figure out how much fabric would be needed. 

Option 1:

For this one, we could do any style truck he likes.   It would look great with solids like below, or with patterned fabric.  I love the modern, simple feel!  In fact, I may make this one with a train for my son.  Or a dinosaur.  He loves them both. 

Option 2:

This one is a more classic style.  It could be done with neutral prints like the one in the pictures, or it could be done with fun, themed fabrics.  Also, you could have either an "M" - or - a truck.   So, a few different combos with this one.  The fun truck fabric with an "M" could be really cute.  Or, you could totally leave off the monogram all-together if you want just a simple, clean look. 

Option 3:

This style is great for showcasing fun fabrics.  Depending on the fabrics, it looks great with white, chocolate brown or grey backgrounds.  It's a great way to have a lot of color and fun, but in a non-cluttered way.

Another variation of the quilt above. 

Option 5:

"Zig Zag" quilts are great for showing off fabrics in a non-cluttered way also.  Basically, you pick your main color (grey on 1st pic, green on 2nd pic) and then the fabrics you want for the alternate rows.  You can do just a couple, or have every single one different, depending on the look you want. 

Option 6:

This is one of my favorites!  Super modern and clean looking.  It's great for when you want one specific thing and not a lot of fluff. 

Option 7:

Here's more of a "scrap quilt" look.  I have tons of different patterns for scrap quilts, so if that's more your style, just let me know. 

 

Fabrics:

There are not a ton of truck fabrics out there that don't look baby-ish.  There is a hot new fabric collection that was just released this year called "Wheels".  It's all the rage in the sewing world.  It would work well with just about any pattern you choose.
